Next Friday, Oct. 12 is the 7th annual Ballard Boys & Girls Club barbecue dinner and auction. This year’s event will recognize the service of executive director Mark Hendricks and child care director Kim Brandenburg. Hendricks, who has been at the club for 25 years, will be transferring to the Federal Way club. Brandenburg, who was worked at the club for 20 years, will be retiring to spend more time with her children. Billy Rodgers from the club tells us they’ll have a salmon barbecue dinner and a silent and live auction, but the focus of the event is to recognize, “these two outstanding members of our community.”
Auction items will include condos, trips, Mariners and Sounders tickets and more. All funds raised will go back to the club. Tickets are $55, and the event is from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12. To register for the event, click here, or to donate auction items, click here (downloadable files).
