If you’ve been waiting to haul your Christmas tree to Golden Gardens for a mid-winter bonfire, you’re going to have to wait awhile longer. The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency has declared a Stage 2 air quality burn ban for King, Pierce, and Snohomish Counties, according to Dewey Potter from Seattle Parks and Recreation. That means that beach fires aren’t allowed until the ban is lifted. Fines for violating the ban can up to $1,000.
Potter says signs are now posted at beach parks around the city. For more information, click here.
