Two Seattle favorites, Li’l Woody’s Burgers and Molly Moon’s Ice Cream are set to open in the old Zak’s Burgers spot at 2040 NW Market St. The food duo are planning to open in the space before Summer hits Ballard.
The Capitol Hill hotspot Li’l Woody’s recently featured on the Travel Channel and the eatery were crowned winners of 2013’s Seattle Weekly Burger Battle and Seattle Magazine Best Burger (readers choice) 2012. The eatery is even a favorite with Seattle music sensations Macklemore and The Cave Singers, who have created their own “signature burgers” – The Heist and People’s Burger. The Ballard spot will be the second for this popular eatery.
“Ballard is just the perfect fit for a Li’l Woody’s,” says owner Marcus Lalario. “The unique combination of families and nightlife is the ideal spot for our delicious food– we are super excited to be a part of this neighborhood.”
The Ballard location of Li’l Woody’s will also feature full-service ice cream courtesy of Molly Moon’s. The queen of the Seattle ice cream scene will add our neighborhood to her list of Seattle locations in Wallingford, Capitol Hill, Madrona and Queen Anne. The seasonally rotating menu will feature her well known Salted Caramel, Melted Chocolate, and Scout Mint flavors in addition to monthly offerings such as Strawberry Rhubarb and Rainier Cherry Chunk.
“I can’t wait to bring the fun and super delicious pairing of Li’l Woody’s burgers and Molly Moon’s shakes to Ballard. We’ve been getting emails from Ballard-ites for YEARS asking for a Molly Moon’s of their very own,” said Miss Moon.
Lalario has been a fixture of the Seattle food and bar scene for over a decade. He developed his “baby” Li’l Woody’s to offer Seattleites delicious, creative and locally sourced menu options served up at the right price with engaging customer service. The menu will feature the seven signature burgers that Li’l Woody’s is famous for, as well as hand cut fries and “Crack fries”, which are fries served with 3-4 ounces of milkshake to dip them in. All milkshakes will be made with Molly Moon’s ice cream of course.
We will keep readers updated with more information when the opening date is known.
