This morning, Seattle firefighters will be at the Ballard Library as part of their reading program aimed at increasing literacy and raising awareness of home fire safety. The Firefighter Story Times is part of a summer-long push to educate young people and their families on fire safety tips, according to the Seattle Fire Department.
The firefighters will be reading “No Dragons for Tea” to preschool kids at the event, and will impart some important safety messages like “firefighters are your friend,” “crawl low under smoke,” and “get out and stay out.” The kids will even get a chance to explore a fire engine and see what firefighters look like in their protective gear get-up.
The story time will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Ballard Library.
