The 5th Annual Seafood Fest Kickoff BBQ will be held at Ballard Elks (6411 Seaview Avenue NW) from 6:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. tonight. The BBQ is a benefit for the Seattle Fishermen’s Memorial brought to you by Rapp Hydema.
Smokin’ Pete’s will be serving up the mouth watering BBQ, The Sourmash Stevedores will be getting the crowd going (think classic honky tonk), and there will be a silent auction of great items and things to do donated by many local businesses including 2nd Ascent, Annies Nannies, Artisan Drywall & Construction, B&N Fisheries, Ballard Hardware, Ballard Loft, Ballard Surf, Blowing Sands Gallery, Clover, Dandelion Botanical and Dutch Bike. 90+% of the net proceeds will go directly to the Seattle Fishermen’s Memorial.
“One of the missions of the Seattle Fishermen’s Memorial is to provide full ride scholarships to the children who have lost parents at sea,” write organizers. Currently nine children are having all of their college expenses paid for by the Seattle Fishermen’s Memorial. The remaining net proceeds help keep the Ballard SeafoodFest a free event for the community.
Tickets cost $50 and include all you can eat BBQ and 3 drink tickets. There are a limited number of tickets still available.
