A new company in Ballard will soon offer mobile solar power generators to rent for off-grid purposes. It’s called Northwest Solar Rover, and was started up by Jennifer Brantley, a former consultant with Sunergy Systems in Ballard.
“After Hurricane Sandy hit the East coast I heard of mobile solar power helping the victims with power to charge cell phones and flashlights,” Brantley wrote. “I felt that there was a need for mobile solar power in Seattle and there didn’t seem to be anyone filling it, so here I am.”
Brantley says she plans to start small, but hopes to have a fleet of solar rovers being used all over the state. She’ll be making her debut with the rover at the Solarfest in Shoreline on July 27. Learn more about Northwest Solar Rover here.
