The stand-up paddleboard (SUP) craze is in full swing with the beautiful weather, and the WASUP Yoga and Surf Ballard have launched a fitness program on paddleboards called SUPFIT Seattle.
According to WASUP, the SUPFIT program is a full-body workout, combining stand-up paddle endurance and circuit-style conditioning. “It’s great for beginners and experienced paddlers, as well as people of all fitness levels who are interested in a fun and challenging bodyweight-based bootcamp workout,” Jenn Johnson, instructor from WASUP tells us. She says that the entire class is done on paddleboards designed for yoga practice, which is a stable yet challenging workout surface. They do classes in all types of weather, and each are unique based on the tides and conditions.
“This program offers fitness lovers a unique opportunity to get out of the gym and onto the water without missing their workout,” Johnson says. Check out the full SUPFIT schedule here.
