Earlier this summer, we told you of Blackbird’s plans to close their doors for good. Now, they hosting a big final closing sale tomorrow to get rid of as much merchandise as possible.
Owner Nicole Miller wrote a heartfelt goodbye at the announcement of the closure, saying, “The mission started out being about the clothes but quickly the people were what mattered most; to see them as who they are, to inspire them to take one step further than the last, and to let them know it was okay to be themselves. I didn’t know I would affect people. I didn’t know how much you people would affect me,” writes Miller.
Their final closing sale is Wednesday, Aug. 14, with a preview at 6 p.m. and the sale starting at 7 p.m. To get a glimpse of the last of their merchandise, or to place a bid on an item you want to buy, visit the store today or tomorrow between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. They’ll have a live bidding at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, and winning bidders must pick up their items by the end of the day on Aug. 15.
Items for sale include display cases, hangers, bags, display props, furniture and leftover merchandise. They are also selling the large metal staircase and the dressing room on the mezzanine, which they say is perfect for a retail store or an office to pick up for a low cost.
