Friday, Sept. 20 is national Park(ing) Day, in which parking places become small parks for the day. There are a few locations that will set up temporary parks for the day in Ballard. Secret Garden Books will host two parks; one at their storefront at 2214 NW Market St, and another at The Scoop at Walters (6408 32nd Ave NW). According to the Seattle Department of Transportation, there will be an outdoor reading room and board games at both locations during the event (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.). The Light Table Design Collective (on Ballard Ave, between NW 22nd St and NW Vernon) will be setting up a park for the day, with a “Fall equinox art-making playscape.”
