On Saturday, Oct. 5, the Salish Sea Trading Company will be meeting to discuss the plans for building a scow to use for their trading operations. The company works as a cooperative, delivering locally produced goods around the Puget Sound by sailboat. The meeting on Saturday will be with skipper Frank Calma and others at Toast Ballard (5615 24th Ave NW) at 2 p.m.
The Salish Sea Trading Company aims to, “conserve precious energy resources, lower our carbon footprint, and re-introduce the idea of sail as everyday transport while building resiliency into our local food shed.” Learn more about the cooperative on their Facebook page.
