Tonight is the 9th annual “Field of Dreams” auction and barbecue at the Ballard Boys & Girls Club. The event is from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., and proceeds from the event will go to renovate the Ballard Boys & Girls Club playfield and to various scholarships. The club will install turf on the in-field and cover the dugouts and batting cages. The scholarships will allow more kids to attend before- and after-school care, summer day camps year-round athletic programs, homework help and mentoring.
There are some big prizes, including Macklemore concert tickets and trips to Hawaii and Bali. In addition to both the live and silent auctions, there will be a barbecue with salmon from the Masonic Lodge, and entertainment from local musicians Minute to Win It. Former Mariner player Jay Buhner will also be in attendance.
