The team at Reuben’s Brews (1406 NW 53rd St #1a) are to be congratulated on raising over $7,000 for local non-profit organizations through their Thank you Thursday program. Reuben’s launched the program last May as a way for the team to give back to the local community.
“Everyone has been so supportive of us since we launched and we wanted to show our appreciation in return. It’s a great win-win – we can help the organization and give them the opportunity to showcase their work at the same time,” says co-owner and head brewer Adam Robbings.
Every Thursday, Reuben’s Brews hosts a different non-profit organization and donates $1 from each pint, growler or set of three tasters sold that night in the taproom. Representatives from the organization are invited onsite to talk about their work and raise awareness of their cause. Ballard beer lovers have also been doing their best to make the program a success.
Many important local organizations have been supported through the Thank You Thursday program including MEOW Cat Rescue, Food Lifeline, Seattle Slam, Sustainable Ballard, Washington Wild, King County Sexual Assault Resource Center, Nana I Ke Kumu Pono Foundation, and Friends of CASA.
“It’s amazing to be the recipient of the generosity of Reuben’s Brews, and it’s a fun and different way to meet community members,” says Katie Rosapepe, Development Coordinator for Food Lifeline. “Here at Food Lifeline, we really value partnerships with our local communities and this was a great way reach some people who may not know who Food Lifeline is. ”
Spaces are still available for Thank You Thursdays in 2014. Organizations must be tax-designated charities or registered non-profits. If you have any questions or would like to sign up your organization, contact Adam Robbings at reubensbrews@gmail.com
