Local resident Molly McLachlan has designed a special t-shirt for this year’s Syttende Mai festival in tribute to her family’s Nordic roots.
“Ballard has always been a part of my life and the Norwegian Independence Day parade has been a tradition in my family for many years,” says MacLachlan.
MacLachlan has been involved in the Syttende Mai parade with her family’s business, Anderson’s Door Company, since childhood. “My grandfather Orville Anderson is always leading the way. He dresses up as a Viking with his trailing ducks,” she says.
MacLachlan has designed the one of a kind Syttende Mai shirt for the Ballard community and it is available for purchase online for the next 2 weeks.
Cost for the shirt is $19.15 plus shipping.
I *LOVE*LOVE*LOVE* mine!!! And desperately wish I could buy more!
P.S. A friend and I together could commit to buying 25 more shirts. Can you please forward that info to Molly and have her contact me if she is at all interested? Would NOT have to be made in time for this year’s Syttende Mai, LOL.
Thanks, Margaret Feige
