Sustainable Ballard to host planning meeting for Edible Garden Tour

ballardSustainable Ballard’s 6th Annual Edible Garden Tour is coming up on Saturday, June 28th, and a planning meeting is set for this Wednesday, April 16 at 7 p.m. to prepare for the event

Interested community members are invited to join Sustainable Ballard in planning the tour, which will take place in the northwest Ballard area from NW 70th St to NW 85th St and west from 24th Ave NW to the ridge.

Sustainable Ballard has plans to combine with Little Free Libraries and Rain Gardens, to showcase all that is happening in our area.

Anyone who knows of a garden, bee hive, chicken house, planting strip, fruit tree , berry patch, or herb pot, in the area, contact this year’s garden scout Paula at pjjenson1@gmail.com.

“The gardens can be in containers or shared spaces, in parking strips or in raised beds; the idea is to show, teach and inspire everyone to see the possibilities of what can be done in an urban landscape in terms of edibles,” write the organizers from Sustainable Ballard.

All are welcome to attend. Email Paula to RSVP and to receive details for the location of the meeting.

Next meeting, April 16th. Come join the fun!
