Ballard Coffee Works (2060 NW Market St) is set to host the Seattle premier of documentary The Way Back to Yarasquin this Wednesday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m.
The film features the story of Mayra Orellana-Powell, a dedicated and passionate leader from a rural mountain village in Honduras, who advocates for locals who have a future that centers around the coffee industry.
The film documents Orellana-Powell’s story from her beginnings in Honduras, to her education and life in the US and then to her starting her own coffee business Catracha Coffee Company.
“Ultimately, this story is about the human, relational side of coffee as Mayra connects her two homes across cultures through the bridge of coffee, family, and relationships,” says filmmaker Sara Gerber.
