It’s that time of the week where we take a look back at the Ballard of yesteryear.
This week we thought we would focus on photos that were taken around the neighborhood in the month of June. Check out the gems that we found below!
This black and white photo of a group of local students and teachers was taken between June 10 – 30 in 1890. The handwritten description on the back of the photo reads “Miss Laucks, Minnie Hansen Clark, 5th Grade.”
The black and white photo below was taken on June 23, 1915 near 14th Ave NW. The photo was taken very close to the site of the present Ballard Bridge.
The black and white photo below features a group of 50 children and three adults, taken in June 1945. Ballard Historical Society believes that it is most likely a school photo. The names handwritten on back are Vernon Hendrick, Arthur Stumpson, Earl Sering, Mary Thold and Robert Rancick.
