The Ballard Boys & Girls Club (1767 NW 64th St) is set to host a garden dedication and art installation on Wednesday afternoon, to mark the completion of a gardening and landscaping project at the club last week by Swansons Nursery.
Last week, Swansons helped transform what had been an overgrown rain garden and a high-traffic grassy area near the clubhouse’s entrance into a sustainable art garden and parklet, giving club-goers two new outdoor spaces. Swansons, Dunn Lumber, and Mutual Materials donated the materials for the project.
The project is part of Swansons’ Grow With Us Project, as the nursery looks to help community members get the most out of their spaces.
Community members are now invited to attend the dedication, which starts at 3 p.m., and will consist of Swansons employees, staff and children from the Boys & Girls Club, and staff and members of the Ballard Chamber of Commerce. Cupcake Royale will also be part of the celebration, providing mini cupcakes to those on hand.
