Throwback Thursday: The Fishermen’s Terminal of yesteryear

With the annual Fishermen’s Fall Festival planned for this Saturday we thought that we would take a look back at Fishermen’s Terminal over the years.

Fishing was at the heart of “old” Ballard and has always played a central role in the development of our neighborhood.

The black and white photo below, taken in 1918, shows a busy and bustling Fishermen’s Terminal. The photo features small wooden fishing boats called dories.
