At a school-wide assembly last week, members of the Society of the Friends of St. Patrick in Seattle presented St. Alphonsus Parish School with a check for $10,000 to go towards student scholarships. The money was raised during an auction at the Society’s 74th Annual Banquet.
St. Alphonsus Parish School expressed its gratitude to both the Society of the Friends of St. Patrick and the Fulcrum Foundation, who recommend them as one of the the beneficiaries of the Society’s auction. Earlier in the year, the Fulcrum Foundation awarded a Schools in Need Grant to St. Alphonsus Parish School.
Kip Toner, Chairman of the Society’s Board of Stewards and Don Luby, himself an alumni of St. Alphonsus Parish School and First Vice President of the Society of St. Patrick presented the check to St. Al’s Principal Matt Eisenhauer. Sue Mecham, MNPL, Managing Director of Fulcrum Foundation also attended the presentation assembly.
Along with the heartfelt applause and cheers of students and staff, Mr. Eisenhauer presented a thank you poster to the Society handmade and signed by St. Al’s student council. The poster was inscribed with the words, “Go Ribh Math Agar,” which translates as “Thank You Very Much” in Gaelic.
