Ballard’s newest coffee spot Caffe Umbria opened at 5407 Ballard Ave earlier this month. The Ballard location is the third to be opened by owners in addition to cafes in Pioneer Square and Portland, Oregon.
In addition to coffee, Caffe Umbria is selling baked delicacies courtesy of Le Panier and Macrina, light lunch options from nearby Volterra and a variety of Italian wine and beer.
The Ballard café also features a Moka bar with stove-top espresso being prepared for all blends that are on offer. “It’s a nostalgic yet delicious way to enjoy coffee, especially for those who grew up in an Italian household,” co-owner Jesse Sweeney said in a statement.
According to the Caffe Umbria website, the new Ballard location “is designed to bring the urban European café experience to the neighborhood level where people live and relax.”
Caffe Umbria is open Monday – Thursday 7 a.m. – 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Sunday 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
