As part of their Pints for a Purpose program, Ballard Beer Company (2050 NW Market St) will donate $1 dollar from every pint purchased this Wednesday, November 12, to the Greenwood Senior Center.
The Greenwood Senior Center (GSC), a program of the Phinney Neighborhood Association (PNA), offers programs and services that provide an opportunity for thousands of seniors each year to enhance physical fitness, mental stimulation and emotional well-being and supports active seniors in their efforts to preserve traditions, embrace change and maintain independence.
In 2013, the Greenwood Senior Center served over 2,300 local seniors, ages 55 – 95, more than 17,000 times, offering daily hot meals, social work services, classes, lectures, visits by health, financial, tax or legal professionals, and numerous club, craft, musical, arts, social and recreational events.
The Pints for a Purpose takes place each Wednesday and has been successful since it kicked off last month. Each week $1 from each pint sold goes towards a local organization or group that gives back to the Ballard community.
The Ballard Beer Company team continues to look for local input about which causes or organizations that should be supported. Each week from Tuesday – Thursday locals with a cause or an organization that they want to support can request that a dollar from each pint sold go towards their cause of choice. On Wednesday the cause will be chosen and announced to patrons.
“Ideally the cause will fall under one of the broad categories of Arts, Biking, Education, Human Services, Parks, Small Business and more generally anything that benefits the Ballard community,” says Anderson.
If you have a suggestion for a great local organization that should be supported contact Ballard Beer company at info@ballardbeercompany.com, post something on their Facebook page or simply stop by.
Head down this Wednesday and have pint in support of Greenwood Senior Center.
