A Community Conversation with officers from the SPD North Precinct will take place during the Broadview Community Council meeting tomorrow evening. All are welcome to attend the event at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church (13047 Greenwood Ave N) from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.)
This is the second meeting to take place tomorrow that is set to tackle the issue of crime in our area. Whittier Heights Informed Neighbors group has also organized a community meeting to discuss the increase of crime in the area.
The meeting is also open to all tomorrow from 1:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. at the Loyal Heights Community Center Room 2 (2101 NW 77th St).
At the Broadview meeting locals will have the opportunity to meet some of the local officers; get an update on the progress on the new North Precinct Building at 130th and Aurora; learn about crime statistics specific to the North Precinct and hear about new safety programs being implemented.
Officers will be fielding questions from the audience so all are welcome to bring their thoughts, concerns, and kudos and be prepared to brainstorm on how the community can best work together with the SPD to improve public safety and reduce crime in the North Precinct.
Attendees will also learn what types of suspicious activity to report to assist SPD in catching criminals and learn how we might advocate for new safety programs for the SPD.
You can also help the community by bringing your donation of new socks for the annual North Precinct sock drive. Officers provide socks to community service centers helping the homeless, and when they encounter people in need on the streets.
