My Ballard reader Brooks emailed in to let us know that the suspicious man who was reported travelling door to door last November is back in the neighborhood.
“I didn’t get a chance to completely lay my eyes on him before he left my porch, but my neighbor let me know moved on north to at least one other house,” says Brooks who lives on 14th Ave NW between NW 67th and 70th Streets.
Last November, My Ballard reader Susan emailed in to let us know about the suspicious man who came to her door asking if their home (on NW 64th Street and 36th Ave NW) had received their newspaper.
The man arrived at approximately 7 p.m. in the evening without obvious identification and reportedly had an “odd” conversation with her.
“I did an online search and saw there was a similar situation in West Seattle that seemed suspicious in 2012, the week of Easter. Since this is Thanksgiving week, I wondered if this was a method to canvas homes for people on vacation,” Susan wrote last year.
Susan called The Seattle Times to confirm if they had sent someone out from the company to detail route accuracy in the area. Their distribution company confirmed that this individual does not work for the company and they encouraged any locals who answered the door to him to call 911 immediately.
Susan described the man as a Caucasian male, around 30, with greenish eyes and slight to medium build who carried a small spiral notebook with him.
After reporting the story, the My Ballard team received over ten emails from readers who had also seen a man matching the same description at their homes inquiring about their newspaper subscription or delivery service.
