The extensive repairs to the West Emerson Overpass are nearly over and the route is set to reopen tomorrow. The exact time of the opening is still being determined by the project team.
Through the construction period, SDOT worked in collaboration with various agencies and contractors to expedite the work schedule wherever possible. The concerted efforts of many allowed for the opening of the overpass to be on time despite the challenging weather conditions of the past few weeks.
After the overpass is opened, some minor work will still be required including the placement of permanent road striping. Some of these minor tasks may happen immediately or be re-scheduled when the weather improves early next year.
The minor work may have some traffic impacts; however the overpass is expected to remain open to traffic during this work.
SDOT wants to thank locals for their patience and flexibility during construction.
The My Ballard team will update readers on the exact time of the opening when it is known.
