This Saturday, June 13, Shilshole Bay Marina will host Open Boat Weekend and National Marina Day. The joint event, held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will teach the community about boating and marina life at Shilshole.
According to the organizers, they’ll have sailboat rides, a boater’s/nautical swap meet (8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.), open liveaboard boat tours, junior sailing lessons, a boat show, live music, beer garden, and more.
They want the event to have a festival-feel, and so they have invited local businesses to set up a table, tent, booth or just hand out flyers for marketing. The event is also a fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, so there will be a $10 donation for participants who want to park their cars for the swap meet, and a $50 donation per business that signs up.
