One subdivision application and an appeal on a subdivision application make up this week’s development update from the City of Seattle’s Department of Planning and Development (DPD) as posted in the Land Use Information Bulletin.
Application:
A Land Use Application has been submitted to subdivide one development site into four unit lots. The construction of residential units are under Project #6467849. This subdivision of property is only for the purpose of allowing sale or lease of the unit lots. Development standards will be applied to the original parcel and not to each of the new unit lots.
Appeal:
An appeal has been made on a Land Use Application to subdivide one parcel into two parcels of land. Proposed parcel sizes are: A) 1,605.1 sq. ft. and B) 2,405.5 sq. ft. Existing structures to be removed.
Local residents voiced their concerns about the development almost one year ago, and Crown Hill resident Lesley said, “it would destroy the look and feel of this nearly hundred-year old neighborhood.”
“If approved, residents worry that it would open the way for developers to build more like projects throughout Ballard. 8358 19th Ave NW lies outside of the Crown Hill Urban Development Zone,” said Lesley in the same article.
The Appeal Hearing will be held on September 16 at 9:00 a.m
