The Ballard High School football team will play in the Second Annual Memorial Football Classic this weekend (Sept. 11-12), a special two-day event to celebrate and raise money for Seattle high school athletes. The event, at Seattle Center, will feature six football games between Garfield, Roosevelt and Ballard. The tournament also aims to build support for the renewed Metro League, which Ballard rejoined in 2014.
The BHS Beavers will play the Roosevelt Rough Riders on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 3 p.m. at Memorial Stadium in the Seattle Center. Ballard High School coach Joey Thomas, founder of the Memorial Football Classic, said the celebration is also benefitting a good cause, as it will, “raise money to support the many needs of all high school athletics.”
The tickets are available at the door, and are $5 for students each day, and $10 for adults.
