This Saturday, local State Representatives Reuven Carlyle (D-Queen Anne) and Gael Tarleton (D-Ballard) will host “Coffee and Conversation” at 1 p.m. at Sip & Ship (1752 NW Market St) in Ballard.
The lawmakers will be in four different northwest Seattle locations on Saturday, meeting with residents in the 36th District to give a recap of the 2015 legislative session and host a discussion about issues relevant to this area. The representatives will also talk about some of the upcoming challenges for the state Legislature when it reconvenes in January.
“The recent teacher strikes across the state and here in Seattle serve as a stark reminder that the Legislature still needs to make good on its promise to fully fund education,” said Tarleton in a release. “We’ve made progress, but there’s still a long way to go. Reuven and I would like to hear from members of our community about how they would like to solve our education challenges and any other issues that are on their minds.”
