There will be a big recycling event this weekend at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Ballard (NW 85th Street & 25th Ave NW). Volunteers will be there from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3.
Our Redeemer’s will accept electronics, metal, styrofoam, and clothing. The church is partnering with SBK | Green Century Electronic Recycle for the electronics, and the EarthCare Team will be on hand collecting clean, dry styrofoam (please remove all tape and labels). All the donated clothing will go to The Bridge Care Center. They are especially looking for winter coats and men’s jeans.
Here’s a list of accepted goods:
- Computers – Laptops – Monitors (CRT, LCD) – Printers / Scanners – Fax / Copy Machines
- Ink Cartridges – Keyboards / Mice – Servers / Routers / Hubs – Networking Devices
- Communications Equipment – Misc. Office Machines
- BBQ’s – All Metal items
- Televisions – VCRs – DVD players – Stereos & Audio Components
- Phones / Cell phones – PDAs, Handheld Games – Cameras – Batteries – Misc. Electronics
- Returned/Unwanted Products
- Washers / Dryers – Ovens/Stoves
They will not be able to accept anything that contains chemicals, nor will they accept light bulbs or furniture. They ask that lawn mowers or anything oil- or gas-filled must be drained before donation.
