Majestic Bay (2044 NW Market St) is hosting a screening of J.J. Abram’s film Super 8 tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m. in support of the Ballard High School Filmmaking Program.
If you are a regular visitor to Majestic Bay, you will be familiar with the new policy trailer A Trip to the Groovies, that was produced by the students involved in the BHS Digital Filmmaking Program.
The BHS filmmaking students were approached by Majestic Bay to make a trailer when the theatre went digital in 2014 and decided to continue the story of Russ and Ellen that was featured in the original policy trailer entitled A Trip to the Movies.
“The film students were thrilled to be approached by Majestic Bay. The trailer is a fun way to inform audiences about proper theatre rules and etiquette,” says BHS Filmmaker Jaya Flanary.
Majestic Bay was so please with the trailer that they made an immediate donation and pledged to organize tomorrow’s fundraiser. A Trip to the Groovies will precede the screening of Super 8. Funds raised will be used to purchase new equipment for the program.
“We really want to get the word out to the community about this exciting event,” says Flanary.
The screening will commence at 9:30 a.m. and all seats are $10.
