Whittier Heights Community Council will hold their neighborhood meeting tonight (Wednesday, May 18) from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Ballard Church (1460 NW 73rd St).
The meeting will include updates on WHCC activities since their January from their new committees: Growth and Development, Neighborhood Events, Traffic and Pedestrian Safety, and Crime Prevention.
Guest speakers will share information about the City’s Housing Affordability and Livability Agenda (HALA) proposal and newly minted Sound Transit 3 proposal—two critical “growth-focused” topics that have huge implications for Whittier Heights. The speakers include representatives from the City of Seattle, Crown Hill Neighborhood Association and Northwest Seattle Coalition.
“It will be a tightly packed, two-hour agenda, and you are guaranteed to learn a lot about important potential changes coming to our neighborhood,” says WHCC organizers.
Visit WHCC’s website, to check out the meeting agenda in addition to the City of Seattle’s HALA Frequently Asked Questions sheet. Organizers encourage locals to read both documents before tonight’s meeting.
