SPD Officers arrested a 28-year-old man on Tuesday evening after a local homeowner caught him breaking into her house.

At Around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening, the victim called police and said the suspect had forced his way through a basement door of her home in the 7000 block of 15th Avenue NW and was trying to enter the main floor of her house.
Officers quickly arrived, entered the house and saw the suspect trying to pull open a door inside the home. The homeowner was on the other side of the door, holding it shut while on the phone with 911 call-takers. Officers took the man into custody without incident.
The suspect was later booked into the King County Jail for investigation of burglary. Detectives will handle the follow up investigation.
