Update: The firefighters have cleared the scene, and the road has reopened.
Earlier: Firefighters have responded to 5433 Leary Ave. (which is the address of the Ballard Landmark) for a natural gas leak in the area. As of 8:45 a.m., Leary is closed in both directions from Market to Vernon.
Seattle Fire says the situation is stable, and PSE is on scene. Residents were evacuated to a Metro bus. No estimate of when the road will reopen.
