Updated: The popular coffee hangout Caffè Fiorè on 85th was heavily damaged in a fire last night, and the business says arsonists are to blame.
“Caffè Fiorè on Sunset Hill was set on fire last night by arsonists. We’re thankful that Marcos was at his restaurant at the time and was able to call the fire department, explains a post on Caffè Fiorè’s Facebook page. “Things could’ve been a lot worse.”
Marcos is the chef and owner of Cocina Esperanza in the same building, right next door (see below). Fortunately, there were no injuries.
Photos taken by Caffè Fiorè (above and below) show the aftermath.
“We’ve got a lot of work ahead,” writes Michelle in the Fiorè Facebook post. “Thank you to the community who has stopped by this morning and been so supportive. We have the best neighbors.”
The call was dispatched at 11:28 p.m. last night. The Seattle Fire Department’s Arson and Bomb squad is investigating the blaze, reports KOMO TV, but fire investigators have not yet determined the cause. We’ll keep you updated.
