Patagonia will soon open a new store in the heart of Old Ballard, at 5443 Ballard Ave. Staff are working late nights to get it ready; on Wednesday night, at least a half dozen people were inside unloading boxes and hanging clothes. Store manager Matt McConeghy says they hope to officially open by August 10.
McConeghy says the store will have a more curated feel to it, with a new line of clothes that he described as rugged workwear made from hemp fabric. “Think broken-in Carhartts,” he said. He also said they’d be selling their range of camping food, including fruit and nut bars, jerkies, soups and grains.
Patagonia Ballard is set to hold their grand opening in September.
