On Saturday, September 23, the Puget Sound Ski for Light will host a fundraising dinner, silent auction and dance at the Leif Erikson Hall (2245 NW 57th St) in Ballard. The fundraiser is at 6pm, and tickets are $25, with all proceeds going to the repair and upgrade of the Leif Erikson Hall. The dinner will include open-fire grilled salmon and cod, with accompanying music by Nordic Reflections.
“Because the hall is 31-years-old this year, it has many maintenance needs occurring simultaneously, and this is a major financial strain on building funds making it difficult to make timely needed upgrades and complete the repairs to keep the building functioning as needed,” according to the Leif Erikson Hall GoFundMe page.
The Ski for Light organization, “offers cross-country ski instruction and guidance to visually and mobility impaired individuals. The group meets at the Sons of Norway Trollhaugen Recreation Area near Stampede Pass every other Saturday through the winter. This program has been in existence since 1976. We thank Leif Erikson Hall and Leif Erikson Lodge 2-001 for many years of support.”
Get tickets by calling the Leif Erikson Hall office (206) 783-1274, or on Brown Paper Tickets.
