Get ready for yet another option for dining out in Ballard: Gather Kitchen + Bar is opening today (Thursday, Oct. 5) in the Ballard Commons building across from the library (5605 22nd Ave NW).
Gather is the creation of chef and owner Ryan Donaldson. A look at the menu shows that Gather offers a full gamut of options, from vegetarian meals such as Grilled Carrots, Smoked Eggplant Puree, Puffed Farro, Popcorn, Sultanas, and Carrot Top Salsa Verde ($16) to a Wild Alaskan Ling Cod with Coriander Broth, Melted Bok Choy and Curry Spice ($28) to a Braised Beef Cheek with Parisian Gnocchi, Red Onion Marmalade and a Sunchoke Puree ($28).
The drink list features a fairly equal distribution of wine, cocktails, and beer, with a focus on IPAs. Cocktails include classics such as a Negroni and Manhattan, with a few signature drinks such as the Blood and Sand (Blood Orange, Sweet Vermouth, Cherry Liqueur, Scotch).
Gather’s hours will be Sunday to Thursday, 5pm to 10pm, and Fridays and Saturdays 5pm to 11pm. Reservations are available online.
