Woodland Park Zoo to host annual Pumpkin Bash

At the end of October, the Woodland Park Zoo will host their annual Pumpkin Bash. “Hippos, grizzlies, penguins, and other animals will gobble, smash, and play with pumpkins while trick-or-treating, pumpkin displays, and other spook-tacular activities await little goblins and ghosts at Woodland Park Zoo’s weekend-long Halloween celebration,” according to the event information. The Pumpkin Bash events will be October 28 and 29 from 9am to 3pm.

In addition to the pumpkin gobbling, the zoo will transform their Zoomazium into a Halloween-themed “Boomazium” with storytelling, costumed puppet shows, and games for kids. In the Rain Forest Pavilion on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 2:30pm will be a Mad Science “dry ice extravaganza” with “shivering gold coins, Boo Bubbles, dry Ice burps, spooky fog effects and Mad Science’s famous bubble showers.”

Pumpkin Bash is free with zoo admission or membership, and during Pumpkin Bash, one child 12 years and under in costume will be admitted into the zoo free with a paid adult.  The admission discount also applies to Halloween day on Tuesday, October 31.
