What’s on this weekend in Ballard and beyond

Star Wars The Last Jedi is in theaters — including our own Majestic Bay in Ballard — and the Seahawks are playing a BIG one on Sunday, but there’s a lot more going on around the neighborhood. Have fun out there!

Friday, Dec. 15

• The Ballard Community Center hosts the Ballard Gingerbread Jubilee with milk carton gingerbread house building, 5-7 p.m., 6020 28th Ave. NW
• Populuxe Brewing hosts a vinyl spin party with Kurt Bloch & Jim Sangster, 7-10 p.m., free
• Joke Peddlers is a night of comedy at Peddler Brewing featuring Bo Johnson, 7-9 p.m., $5
• Live music:
• Theories, Tacos!, the Family Curse play at Sunset Tavern, 9 p.m., $10

Saturday, Dec. 16

• The Christmas Ship and its on-board choir will sail around Ballard two times today, once in the afternoon from 2:30 to 5 and again at night at 7 to 9:15 p.m. Details here.
• Andy and Melissa Wagenbrenner, the new owners of The Mailbox Ballard, want to meet the neighbors and celebrate their new adventure. 4-5 p.m. at 2400 NW 80th St.
• Live music:
• Maldoggies Family Christmas with Widower play at The Tractor, 9 p.m., $15
• Phono Paradiso, Cold Comfort, Colorworks, New Felts at the Substation, 8 p.m., $8

Sunday, Dec. 17

• The Ballard Farmers Market will be open in Old Ballard, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Bring your pet for a holiday dog party with Santa himself at Peddler Brewing, 3-7 p.m.
• Leif Erickson Lodge will host a watch party of the season finale of the popular Norway reality TV show, Alt for Norge — and local contestants from the show will be in attendance. Potluck and screening from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
• Chabad of Northwest Seattle holds a menorah lighting ceremony at Bergen Place Park with music and hot latkes, 5:30 p.m.
• Joshua Chambers (Bumbershoot) and Bo Johnson (Comedy Central) bring you The Ballard Comedy Show featuring Scott Losse, The Ballard Underground, 7 p.m. doors, $7/$10
• Live music:
• Live music and local artists at Tractor Tavern’s Handmade Arcade, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
• Six Killer, Shake Some Action, The Pop Cycle at the Sunset, 8 p.m., $8
