This upcoming Sunday is National Dog Day, and to celebrate, a Ballard gym is hosting “puppy yoga”, which is exactly what it sounds like: sun salutations with some puppies running around. Proceeds from the class will go to support puppy rescues.
RenFitness (1404 NW 49th St ) is partnering with BravePup Rescue for the event in which a handful of puppy rescues will be there to help participants de-stress, and, of course, cuddle puppies. The class costs $25, and there are limited spots available available – they anticipate a waitlist for the class.
All donations and 75 percent of sales from the class will go to Bravepup, which regularly brings adoptable rescue puppies to businesses and organizations for employee health and wellness. Donations from the program help the organization rescue and transport puppies from overcrowded shelters.
The gym will offer three one-hour puppy yoga classes on Sunday, August 26 at 2pm, 3:30pm, and 5pm; register here. Due to the popularity of the class, those who register will be charged the full amount of the class ($25) in case of no-show or cancelling within six hours of the class.

Puppy Yoga. Because Seattle.
I will bring my fur blessing to this class! How wonderful.
Peak civilization.
Hey look at ME everybody. Why not put a cake on your head and walk through Ballard? And no, I’m not against puppy rescues, just fitness and social mis-cues.
Why not put a cake on your head and walk through Ballard?
Wow Scotty, I didn’t know you had an avant-garde side to you!
I second the “cake walk”. Cake Walk, yes! Ha ha. No seriously, cheesecake, chocolate, perhaps a meringue of some sort? Need to be careful with a meringue in this weather, serious melt!
They do leave the house. And they do things. Instead of sitting in the same chair all day, posting dad jokes. A bitter, isolated little man has nothing to teach anybody about social cues.
Pathetic.
Goat yoga is the hot thing and they like to jump on the participants.you dont have to chase or hang onto goats.
And they call it puppy love….
Just get on with it and MARRY YOUR DOGS AND CATS, Seattle. What a freakshow
