The Ballard Senior Center is accepting gift donations that will be distributed to seniors during their annual Christmas luncheon on Dec. 17.
Organizer Randi Nichole from the center posted about the gift drive in the My Ballard Group, saying how meaningful it is for seniors to have gifts handed out at the luncheon. “This is a great way to bring holiday spirit to members of our community that might not otherwise receive gifts during the holidays,” Nichole writes.
The center be accepting gifts until Dec. 7. Here are a few ideas from Nichole, who says all gifts must be new:
- Christmas and Hanukkah decorations
- Hats – medium to extra large
- Gloves – medium to extra large
- Scarves
- Slippers
- Fuzzy Socks
- Puzzles and puzzle books
- Holiday blankets or throws
- Kitchen items and tools
- Boxes of chocolates and other goodies

This is a good chance to rethink donating that extra pair of socks and gloves to Goodwill. Bring them to people who need them at the senior center!

This is wonderful news for the senior center!
All of the people I know who frequent the center have plenty of money and don’t need old socks.
