Ballard Taco Time has reopened after a four-month renovation

The Taco Time in Ballard has reopened today after a long renovation.

Taco Time closed in September for the remodel, during which they planned to change the layout of the restaurant, add an outdoor patio, and rebuild the kitchen.

Everything in the restaurant is new, from the furniture, to the ordering window, and the drive-thru. There are large digital menus on the wall next to the reduced counter, with a large silver “Shilshole” sign in the middle.

They’ve also built a large outdoor patio, which employee Kevin tells My Ballard they’ll be opening up in the spring.

The hours are 10am to 10pm, seven days a week.

It’s great that even though restaurants like Taco Time and Wendy’s serve fast-food, they have an awareness of aesthetic and a desire to provide a nice dining experience for their clientele instead of opting for the cheapest possible options and becoming an eye-sore. It’s like they are saying “Hey Ballard, there’s a great thing going on here, and we want to help be part of it.”

  2. There were fences around this place for weeks.
    FOR WHAT? FENCES AND WALLS DO NOT KEEP PEOPLE OUT.
    Geez, get educated people.

    This franchise concept is a disgusting display of patriarchal cultural appropriation.

    Unless there is time for a “siesta” then this is just more of the evil white man’s “taco time” not real culture. They should change their name to “Sanctuary Tacos” and do away with the white man’s health code and the white man’s germ theory – vaccines are a hoax and so is hand washing.

      1. Umm, I think they’re trying to play off the Seattle insanity to be funny. I get it. Just because Jimmy Kibble or Colbert doesn’t do this, is it not then funny? Can Ballard liberals ever laugh at themselves? Or, are we supposed to wait for others to tell us what’s cool/PC? Lastly, wearing a MAGA hat is now a sin eh? Well then, please tell us all here what other types of garb are on YOUR hit list? A hat with a few letters is all it takes to trigger you and a few others? What a bunch whimps and control freaks. What does your psychiatrist say when you tell them about this? My guess is; you miss all that “hope + change”.
