Ballard’s Tool Library has just turned one year old.
Run by Sustainable Ballard, the library (7549B 15th Ave NW) started in March 2018. It’s comprised almost entirely of volunteers, and is managed by JB Harmon.
“It has been a total blast and I would like to thank everyone who has signed up with Sustainable Ballard and supported the tool library with their generous donations,” Harmon writes on the Sustainable Ballard website. “As a non-profit, volunteer driven organization, we wouldn’t be here without the support of the community.”
The library is staffed by a group of 14 volunteers, and their hours are Saturday 9am – 11am, Sunday 2pm – 5pm, Tuesday 11am – 1pm, and Thursday 5pm – 8pm. They also have monthly Repair Cafe on the fourth Thursday of each month — check Sustainable Ballard’s calendar for dates and times.
“Things only get better in year two, so if you haven’t stopped by BTL yet, now’s the time!” Harmon writes. “We are stocked up for Spring and we’re always looking for more of our neighbors to volunteer and keep this thing going for many more years to come.”
What a great service for the community. Thanks SB for all you do.
Very helpful for those of us who do not have room to store a bunch of things. Good work, Sustainable Ballard!
