Ballard’s biggest summer festival, SeafoodFest, has just announced their musical lineup.
SeafoodFest, in its 45th year, is happening July 12-14 all over downtown Ballard. What began as a neighborhood salmon barbecue all those years ago is now three days long and grows in attendance each year. The free festival always attracts great local artists: this year’s headliner is The Joy Formidable.
Other artists on the bill are Kyle Craft, The Moondoggies, Nite Wave, Pickwick, Eldridge Gravy & the Court Supreme, Monsterwatch, Carrie Akre, Dusty 45s, The Hoot Hoots, #All4Doras, Cold Comfort, TELLERS, and School of Rock.
“Ballard SeafoodFest is not only a seafood festival that celebrates the Ballard neighborhood but it is also the only free music festival providing this level of entertainment in Seattle this summer,” Ballard SeafoodFest Director Mike Stewart said in a news release about this year’s music.
The festival will open on Friday evening (July 12) with the free and all-ages concert featuring 80s cover band NiteWave and #All4Doras. On Saturday and Sunday (July 13 and 14), downtown Ballard will be transformed into the festival grounds, with dozens of food carts, a large beer garden, and activities spread throughout the festival. There will be a kids area at the Ballard Commons Park, skateboarding “Festi-bowl” competition at the skate park, and the famous Lutefisk Eating Competition at Bergen Place.
The festival grounds will include NW Market St between 24th Ave NW and 15th Ave NW, almost the whole length of Ballard Ave, and 22nd Ave NW between Market St. and NW 58th St.

Great mix of bands!
The Moondoggies are great and put on a really good show. I’m looking forward to it.
I was hoping for the Stones or the Who. Chuck Roast and the Mashed Potatoes are good too though.
Maybe Gravy is good on seafood?
This is a really great lineup!
