Update: Despite some rumors, Red Mill Burgers says they will not be expanding into the Starbucks space.
“We do not currently know what business will be moving in, but we are excited to see who our new neighbors will be,” they tell My Ballard.
Original: The Starbucks on Phinney Ridge will soon be closing its doors.
The closure was announced on the neighborhood blog, PhinneyWood, who reported that the store will be shutting down in July and that all employees will be able to transfer to new locations when the Phinney cafe closes.
Starbucks’ neighbor is Red Mill Burgers — we’ve reached out to them to see if they’ll be expanding into the space once Starbucks moves out.
PhinneyWood reports that the cafe will host a big closing party in late June or early July — for updates, you can follow the Phinney Starbucks on Instagram.
Tear down. Apartments. No Parking.
That doesn’t make sense. Why would Red Mill think a business is moving in? Or do you think they are going to tear down the starbucks half of the building? If they are knocking down the whole building Red Mill would know that that is happening.
Going to be a nail salon or book store , nothing new or original .Same gentifcation model -same people !
On the one hand, we’re losing come crappy corporate coffee and and a hangout for people with max pretentiousness and zero taste in coffee.
One the other hand, we’re losing a needle deposit site and shooting gallery bathroom.
Schultz wept.
Nice one!
Umm, perhaps they know something others don’t. Such as the site being readied for condos or such. Seattle is to me like being on a beach in Mexico: everything is negotiable.
