Today is Memorial Day, which means events around the city to pay tribute and remember those who died while serving in the armed forces. Here’s a full list of events from the Seattle Times, and the below are events in Ballard:
- Ballard Memorial Day Lunch at VFW Post 3063, noon to 2pm (2812 NW Market St). The wonderful staff from the Relay Restaurant Group (Joule, Trove, and Revel Restaurants) are catering a special luncheon on Memorial Day for veterans and their families at VFW Post 3063 in Ballard. Tickets available here.
- Memorial Day Ceremony & Brunch at Crown Hill Cemetery and Ballard Elks, 9:30am to 11am. First, a short 15 minute ceremony at the Crown Hill Cemetery starting at 9:30am. This will be followed by a brunch and short program at the Elks Lodge. This is a family event and all are welcome.

- All U.S. Post Offices
- Most major banks and credit unions
- All locations of The Seattle Public Library
- Ballard Neighborhood Service Center
- All Seattle Public Schools and district offices
Things to remember:
- On-street parking is free in the City of Seattle.
- All King County Metro Transit bus routes are operating on a Sunday schedule.
- Garbage, food and yard waste, and recycling pick-up will be on a normal schedule.
