The biggest festival in Ballard is coming up fast, and the organizers are asking for a few more volunteers.
The 45th Annual SeafoodFest is happening July 12th through 14th, all over downtown Ballard. With a plethora of free events and activities, volunteer opportunities are quite varied.
“Please consider joining us at the festival as a volunteer for a weekend of fish and fun,” organizer Mike Stewart writes. “There are a wide variety of positions and times to accommodate your schedule.”
And, there’s some good perks: each shift comes with a complementary Alder-smoked salmon BBQ dinner, admission to the volunteer after party, and, as Mike puts it, the neighborhood’s unwavering appreciation.
The free festival relies on a big team of volunteers to make it happen each year, and proceeds from the festival are reinvested into Ballard through programs and projects produced by the Ballard Alliance.
“Your help during the 2019 event will have lasting effects throughout the coming year,” Mike writes.
They still need help with Info Booth and Beer Garden shifts, plus a few Kids Area volunteers, people to conduct surveys, volunteers for the Game Area, and more. A full list of the volunteer positions can be found here.
I was speaking with Julie O’Brien about this recently, I think she is offering some of her volunteers to assist with the event.
Why don’t you volunteer? You always have nothing but love for the community and you have so much time to fill.
