Plans to build a 7-story apartment building in the narrow lot between Caffe Fiore and Ballard Landmark are forging ahead, with a Design Review Board meeting planned for later this month.
The development proposal for 5409 Leary Ave NW would contain 48 small efficiency dwelling units, and general sales and services on the ground level. No parking is in the plans.
The Design Review Board Recommendation meeting (.pdf) is scheduled for July 29th, to be held at the Ballard Community Center’s Sunset Room (6020 28th Ave NW) at 8pm.
The meeting will include a presentation by the applicant about the design. Public comments will be accepted regarding the design of the development, and the Design Review Board will deliberate and provide their recommendations on the design to the Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections.
The project is proposed by Skidmore Janette, the same architectural firm that designed Stoneburner in the Olympic Club Hotel.
