Ballard Bridge gets stuck (again)

5:05 pm: The bridge has finally reopened in both directions after closing more than four hours ago. No word on what caused the malfunction.

3:30 pm: The bridge has now been closed for 3 hours with no ETA on reopening. Just be glad this isn’t a weekday. See the bridge traffic cameras here.

2:15 pm: The bridge is still broken, and all lanes remain closed.

1:20 pm: A week after the Ballard Bridge got stuck, it’s stuck again this Sunday afternoon, closing all lanes. Traffic is backed up in all the usual directions as drivers take alternate routes.

SDOT first reported the bridge is experiencing “technical issues” at 12:30 pm. Maintenance crews are on scene, and there’s no ETA to when it will reopen.

You can see the live traffic cameras here.

    1. It appears as if you have also swallowed all the BS the bully democrats have foisted upon you. Perhaps you missed the part where attorneys stopped THE PEOPLE’S VOTE? Perhaps spending BILLIONS on drug addicts and RV dwellers just might have been spent in the wrong places. Yes, BILLIONS. How many hungry kids would’ve this fed? How many modern bridges could’ve this built? Seems it’s people like you that prohibit new modern things from happening. Your hero Jay Inslee is about to toss another $300,000,000.00 at homeless, wondering just why it’s “got so bad”. This is YOUR money sport. These people AND YOU are uses as tools to further raise taxes.

    2. Hey brilliant one. Just open YOUR fat wallet and simply send in more each and every week to your favorite government and leave other wallets alone? Um, I am certain you will FEEL better,

    1. Do we all STILL have 8-track players in out Model T’s? What part of “progressive” is the Ballard bridge? Let’s add 500,000 people here and wonder why things are out of date and breaking.

  1. Wasn’t that long ago this POS was built using wood and it caught fire often, due to trains/sparks. Outdated, too low and NOT progressive whatsoever.,

      1. Ballard Bridge is a symbol of white supremacy and must not be repaired. Spending money on Ballard Bridge would only reinforce white supremacy.

    1. Paintking: Wasn’t that long ago this POS was built using wood and it caught fire often, due to trains/sparks. Outdated, too low and NOT progressive whatsoever.

Benny Hill: All that and the bridge is NOT inclusive enough…i.e. no connection to disadvantaged and marginalized communities!
