The local Aussie bar Kangaroo & Kiwi is hosting a benefit on Friday night to raise money for those dealing with the devastating bushfires in Australia.
Owner Bradley Howe shared the event in the My Ballard Group, saying they’ll start the fundraiser at 5pm on Friday, Jan. 10, with happy hour drinks. There will be a silent and live auction, plus a barbecue starting at 6pm.
“Our friends, family, and the many people they know along with the loss of nearly half a billion animals have been devastated, and are still in need of help,” the event info reads. “We will be accepting donations, having a live auction, and running the classic Aussie raffle and sausage sizzle to help generate funds.”
Bradley says they’re accepting donations of goods for the auction — get in touch with the pub if you’d like to donate.
Cash donations and money raised during the auction will go to the Australian Koala Foundation, the Salvation Army Australia, NSW Rural Fire Services, and NSW Wildlife Information and Rescue.
All are welcome to the fundraiser, including kids, Bradley says.
